NETHERLANDS: RKSV MULO (1964-2020)

Gemeentelijk Sportpark De Braak Noord, Helmond (formerly RKSV MULO)

Netherlands, province: North Brabant

27 V 2017 / RKSV MULO - WVV Constantia 1-2 / District South II, Sunday League 4 - promotion play-off semi, second leg (aggregate score: 4-3 MULO)

Note: RKSV MULO ('Met Uiterste Leeuwenmoed Opwaarts'), founded in 1915, moved into the northern part of Gemeentelijk Sportpark 'De Braak' in 1964, thus becoming the neighbours of professional league side RKSV Helmondia '55 - split up in 1967 into a professional branch, Helmond Sport, and a non-league branch continuing to play under the old name on one of the other side pitches of the stadium. Notably, MULO were the first club of the footballing twins Willy and RenĂ© van de Kerkhof, who were part of the Netherlands' World Cup squads in 1974 and 1978, with 'Oranje' reaching the final on both occasions. In 2020, three years after my match visit at RKSV MULO, the club concluded a merger with their neighbours SC Helmondia, forming SV De Braak. Since, all football has moved to SC Helmondia's ground, Sportpark De Braak Oost. MULO's clubhouse was knocked down, as the main pitch had to make way for a school campus.
